I love this khamsa. I have one of a similar shape but without glass. Ayis and Sarah, do you think the glass is a recent addition?
first thought would be that cabs should have been coral ones but the use of couloured glass was not odd on old aures jewelry, i mean that local women used to wear such jewelry and that it is not the result of some merchant fixing!
this peculiar shape is actually more connected with constantine and other coastal cities (algiers as well) and it was often executed on gold and parts of the export items towards the atlas and the sahara for the cistommers who could afford it
You can not foliage patterns in between the fingers which are more elaborate or "refined" that the cruse straight lines of the more common mountain originating khamsas
