Silver bracelet bought in India. But I'm not sure if this is indian at all, or even a tribal design. Can you please help me with it? have you ever seen a similar tribal bracelet?
It amazes me how original your pieces always are!!. I have no clue about the origin of this bracelet but find it great!!. Are those horses? dogs? And that in the middle, snakes?.
I was going to say the same............which countries would put the lovely dogs on their jewelry (apart from the West.............Not many dogs (if any at all) on African jewelry either.
and if these were notdogs ????? like the "ducks" :I see more these like snakes ....... well, I found something that could be interesting ??? in book "Bagues Ethniques, d'Afrique, Asie & Amérique" by Anne van Cutsem (Ghysels collection), about rings from south of India they say "ritual rings worn by the Lingayats, Nandi -the çiva (Shiva ???) BULL is shown with protectives COBRAs, and bull + cobras symbolise the Cosmic order" (about rings p.145) ..........
Thanks Marianne!! I looked again at the bracelet but definetively they are not snakes, but dogs or another 4 legs animal... but they doesn't look like bulls either or maybe a very very stilized bulls (with no horns?)
Thanks again for your interest!!
Looking again at the bracelet... yes, the animals in the middle could be snakes....

Yes!! I think the same!! that's why I bought it.... ;-)
