  • Are you sure this is Gujerat? I always thought this was from Pakistan.. Swat area i think.

  • Hey Linda ….similar ones on p. 257 of Oppi Untracht book…Also i asked Waqar in Pakistan …and he is not sure of Gujarat..but also not Pakistan ..his first thought was Aghani …so really i don't know where is from…and i looked on books and internet …so i found closest ones to Gujarat…..if you find something …please let me know !!

thanks for pointing that out…kisses... Angelo

  • From all my years collecting in India, this is not considered from there. This style has been coming via Pakistani merchants and as per several books on the regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan they say this style was sold in Kabul via merchants in Pakistan , this from the book Scmuck in Afghanistan (Janata) as well as other  books . The author is saying he believes these to be from Ghazni but ended up selling in shops in Kabul and also Pakistan , which i can believe is more in line with the style and construction.  These are ones i had several years ago of the same ilk and were purchased via someone who supplies items from Pakistan and Afghanistan.  These are the same type only with gilt decoration. 2506049757?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024
