  • Hi Arie,

     

    Koli beads are glass trade beads appreciated by the Krobo people in Ghana.  Normally, they are a powder blue color, but I found these teal-colored ones a few months ago and snapped them all up.  They have an amazing luminosity when in the sunlight and I was thrilled when the coincidentally matched the agate in the Tuareg pendant.

  • recently i acquired some strings of the "twice-cooked" dichroic blue (rather than teal) beads from Ghana and Nigeria as shown and described in the article quoted by Peter Francis- and would be willing to sell a few to scholars or collectors... so enquiries welcome-
