in the roundhouse of the Semien mountains

in our Zoo we have a big place called "Semien-Mountains" (imitating the area in Northern Ethiopia, near Gondar) with Djeladas, Gazelles and a small animal called dassie (Klippschliefer in German). The walls of roundhouses are decorated with Ethiopian paintings from daily life (see pic under comments). I could not resist to hang my telsum necklace from my neck to the paintings and take a photo... because of the visitors, I had to hurry (they must have taxed me as completely crazy! But it was worth a good laugh).

  • Funny girl, but your telsum chain does fit there. These ladie on the painting would and do wear them.  Is there also the special Simien fox pictured?. Very cold on the mountains, you need a double sleeping bag when camping overthere.

  • @Thank you Ingrid. No, I have not seen a Special Fox Picture..... but perhaps I have overseen it, could be on the other side. It was really funny to take that photo and I Iaughed a lot (because of the other visitors, taking me for a fool). Did me good, I am still not well (can only go out with tablets). Will search for a Fox Picture next time....!

  • Lovely idea! Makes your telsums memorable for me!

  • @Thank you Chantal!  I hope you are fine! You know me, sometimes I have crazy ideas....

Just see, it was featured........ wow! Thank you.

  • Very funny, Eva! I love it!
  • @Akkie, thank you very much. I only wish, the photo was technically better! (As said, there were lots of visitors and it was a challenge to take ONE photo at all. It would have been easier on a rainy day during the week.........)

  • What a clever idea to take your telsums out to a background and photograph them. Very nice.

  • What a great idea!
