Jewish ladies early learnt to work with sewing machine and my grand father who used to work during WWII in the casablanca american army base as a handyman used to bring back home jute bags and would hire a jewish woman to sew "gandouras / dresses" for little boys that wold sell easily for it was very hard to find any fabrics (food and other groceries) during the war.
