They are coral - or at least really appear to be - and have turquoise chip inlays around the base of them. I bought them from an afghan bead dealer who has sold me some lovely things. I do not know their origin. Each is slightly different and of different size and shape as one would expect of coral.
They certainly look like coral from the photo. The nice end beads with the turquoise chip inlay may well be tibetan or nepalese. The paler carved turqoise beads seem to be chinese - maybe pressed powder. Afghans would have access to all of these.
It would be interesting to see yellow versions.
