    I have seen photos of Ida ou Semlal pieces with finer work - would that be because of the smith or the customer or are there different patterns used within the community?

    Hi love, this is not an original arrangement. I tend to see finer workmanship on older pieces, these are often very worn.

    The pieces originally would be strung between two fibulae.

    M-A, yes, I purchased this as part of a lot. I'll enjoy wearing it, but still looking for a good set of semlal pendants with the fine work.
