Simple but quite precise in the way it has been engraved. It shows that the artisan who had made it had an artistic imagination... Very good piece
Angelo, this is so delicately done... I've just learned that a burin is a very fine and sharp engraving tool ... indicating that this would have been engraved by hand ... so accurately. What skill.
Hey Thelma …thanx ….look at Albrecht Durer prints …you will have an idea how this instrument has been elaborately used in printmaking !!

A great piece, Angelo. Simple and yet very sophisticated. May I ask how large it is?

Thank you Angelo - quite a button! I really love it.
I just bought a Russian/Caucasian niello button, but its very small by comparison, only 1 1/3" :))
