it is kind o nice, and could be African, but turtles are used in many cultures.... The way it is decorated could even be Indonesian (I have a bracelet in that style from Bali , but showing a lizard). I hope someone can solve the riddle........
Yeah it would be cool if someone in here recognises the design pattern or metal technique used on the turtle,its two toned and I think its brass with a silver overlay on top.. the string its threaded on isnt synthetic nylon it looks like the old 'cat gut sinue string'
so I havnt worn it for fear it will perish with body heat and come apart..the beads are hand blown & cut on odd angles on some and are very irregular ,the orange beads look more like 'Carnelian stone' & the larger blue ones look like 'Blue Lapis' as they have flecks in them of different coloured blue hues..
