  • very interesting item. (I know nothing about them - being a shrine, is it big? and is it Tibetan too?)

  • they are either worn (see straps) across body or arm and or on an alter. They usually had a small painting and or small terracotta diety inside with Tibetan prayers.  It is about 7" H

  • thank you for the information, I had imagined it bigger. Nice to know.

  • The biggest ones of these I have seen that are usually later are about 12 -15" Tall. some used like that on alters.

  • they remind me a little of the Thai spirit houses in front of their normal houses. (Have lived approx. one year in Bangkok), although those in Thailand look different (new and all golden).

  • A nice early example.
