  • Very nice item, nice symbols. Are those eyes specially against ailments?

The Koptic people in Egypt have nearly the same ex votos.

  • yes this is similar to ones that are Mexican and Latin American too.

  • Yes, the eyes are quite hypnotic... and a bit scary. Would this be a Catholic amulet ... or Orthodox? I see there's a little angel at the bottom. And what other symbols are there? What are those crosses or keys amongst the foliage?

  • I don't know much about these things.. I just buy them as I like to wear them and have had them for sale always when they turn up.  Not sure about symbolism. They are Christian not just Catholic.  They use them all over the world.

  • very interesting and unusual, never seen this before as European piece. Lovely and rare. Like also the flowers and bird on the outside.

  • Very wonderful!
