I have seen many of these in aswan and louxor on sale, some very large ones were really attractive.
Probably a hair braid ornament (on the back??!), the little tear shaped pendants are quite common in the region and would probably come from the bishariiyah (the south east egyptian branch of BEJA tribe) or the nuba, a mix between the two traditions??
Would be inclined though to consider it as nubian.
Thank you Ayis for your comment!!
Your collection is amazing!! I saw by you photo's the once you bought in Pushcar!!
If you go to my photo's I have the same pair and I bought it in Pushcar too!! But it was a smell shop and I remember they were expensive because of the fine work!
Can you look to them and give me your opinion?
surely southern Egypt, I think Nubia. Pendant for around the neck (hangs from a piece of string).
