I remember a similar pair in the same shop i bought mine, they too had the parakeet pattern cisheled on them.
The only difference being the hinge, yours is a screw but mine is only a slide in pin.
i bought mine in a shop that has many jewelry but a lot of antique stuff as well (weapons, sticks, frames, boxes....) run by krishna a very kind and knowlegeable dealer.
I bought it in 2005 it was a very little shop I remember I think it was in a little glass vitrine!! And i do not rember what else he had, but i do remember he did not have a lot of jewerly!!
He also told me it was a rare pair and I must say I had not seen it anywhere else.
Do you have an opinion on the anklets from Aswan because I saw the same in the museum of Aswan
Well as i said before, i have never seen similar before and they are definetely hand made by the same smith in a way that even if they are new (a conclusion manyknowledgeable forum members came to) i treasure them a lot and no regret to be had.
