Lovely hairpin Eva, very elaborated decorated, do you see also the hidden cross pattern within the main body? Special alright. Good find. Gr. Ingrid.
Alright I see you did notice it. It is very late actually. So anyway, very good acquisition..
Wow! Spectacular hairpin. Congratulations Eva!
@thank you Ingrid and Lynn. Yes I had noticed the cross in the decorated middle part, that what makes it different from the other hairpins of the same type. therefore I bought it, (I have already a few of this type, but without this cross in the middle). Also the guilding on this one is stronger than on the others and it is quite old (can be seen on the back). It arrived quite dirty, I cleaned it several times before taking this photo.
A great addtition to your collection, Eva. I love this type of pin/comb.
Congratulations!
As for the verdigris/Grünspan problem you might try brushing it carefully with soda solution, then rinse thoroughly with water and dry until no humidity is left on/in the piece.
@Thank you Betty. Yes, I feel too that it is a special one with the cross. I will try to get rid of the last Grünspan soon, thanks for your advice! There is a bit on the side and the bottom of the Body part.
Dear Eva; This is a great hair pin - Congratulations. Peter
@thanks Peter! I am glad I bought it after all - did not want to at first, as it seems so similar to the ones I have already. but it is the hidden cross that persuaded me to buy it. When it arrived I got another nice surprise, the guilding is much stronger than the others have...... although it is old (as seen on the back).
