  • Silver - Basket weave courtesy of Marie-Ange - Wooden Mauritanian beads inlaid with silver wire - Large Mauritanian silver bead sourced in Morocco - New Indonesian black striped glass beads - Engraved Serpentine beads (China), Brass Ethiopia and Ghana - black horn beads.

  • Beautiful! Great color and textures in these.

  • Very beautiful necklace. On the braclet there are some more different beads........ one Looks like a West African brass bead (Ghana or similar?) and  a small Ethiopian round telsum bead ?).

  • Thanks Eva and Toya and Sarah for the feature.

You are correct Eva, a small brass breast amulet from Ethiopia and brass cast Baoule Ghanaian bead, with aja beads.

  • Gorgeous Ann. I love the big bead in the front with the fine silver thread. I bought some bracelets similar to this in Morocco years ago, but they were made from metal(?). Is this bead made from wood?
  • Love the way each bead is different but all blend beautifully into the whole.

  • Natalie, Yes its wood, but have no idea if the "silver" wire is actually silver, sometimes there is a copper design as well.

Patti thanks for your comments and I bet you can't wait for the forthcoming trip - have fun, I am sure you will and it will be good to be back in 'Kech again - please say hello to Faouzi from Ann, (he will remember if you tell him that I am the one with the Muslim son).

Take lots of pictures and especially of the textiles......

  • Will take lots of photos and share them here! Feel blessed to be able to go with Sarah et al on another wonderful adventure.

  • I particularly like the basket weave beads in this particularly harmoniously designed necklace. You sure do have the talent, kiddoh!

Have a most wonderful time, Patti! Knowing you, you`re sure to unearth some super interesting pieces.

  • This is stunning Ann! Beautiful textures and patinas.
