enamelling.....

Enamelling...... There is an amazing piece of film footage in the new Berber Museum in Marrakech. it shows the fabrication by a Tiznit artisan of a large fibula including the techniques of enamelling. There is also a village in the south which still practices the art. in a way which has evolved in time..... We will visit both on the next tour I am taking in Morocco. http://www.vividtrading.com/tours-2/marrakech-jewel-tour-may-2012 For those who are truly interested in this important aspect of Jewellery making in Morocco this is an invaluable experience. Access to the artisans in the south is an experience only possible due to my ongoing trade connections in the area, it is not an experience which is open to tourists.
