  • this one is intriguing, it is almost too pefect to be true, it really lacks wear and patina but then it was only used on festive occasions!!

It is beautiful but i remain skeptical without seeing the back side.

  • Yes I understand your reservations...but havng seen the piece I feel it is original...I have no pics of the back... with try to get some in the future

  • Thank you for posting this Sarah! I love this headdress -- even better than the ida ou nadif one -- just my love of that Moroccan blue color and all of the old glass contained in the pendants. Was there a price for this one? I don't remember because I was too busy figuring up how much 1 million dirham would be in dollars-- but definitely, this is my favorite -- along with the ida ou nadif ring and pendant I was too foolish to buy at the time.
  • Hi Patti, I don't think I entered into a discussion about the price of this one... I can find out for you......

At the time I was fully distracted by the Siroua piece!!!!

But yes  a beauty... I think we are about to discuss it further re authenticity....... I have posted a close up pic x

  • @ patti   I think we were all reeling from an expensive day in Essaouria that day too!!

  • the Ida ou nadif ring was still there when I visited a few weeks ago...... I looked at it again...another special piece.... I need to take more pics there....never enought time......!!!!
  • Yes, definitely more pictures of the ring if it is still there. That dealer had the most unusual and high quality pieces, I kept wishing I did't have to count my money and could just let loose. I did get a wonderful henna cloth from him and he had a fabulous saffron cloth which drove me crazy as well. As for as the little bird on the other piece, You can find those little birds on other pieces ( I know I have several bird pieces) and just transfer it -- I don't think that it would make a difference, other than I guess the integrity of the piece ( which is a big thing if you are paying a mint for it.) The thing about the ida ou nadif headdress -- it is a true collector's piece but most collectors do like to see their pieces gain in value over years, I don't think that would happen to this piece because it is already over the top. What fun that trip was! Wish I could go again!
