  • Hi,

I guess these are bahariyya oases bracelets , hallmarks are ottoman Tughras

The fishes are misleading since they are very common in tunisia

  • Who knows?

Bought it recently, it's hallmarked (double). Does somebody knows something about the origin/date? One of the marks looks like a 'tugra' (Ottoman empire?). I followed the comments on Tunesian and Siva cuffs of Ann Porteus and Susan Kaplan, and like the interesting story of the fish symbol.

    Thanks,

    Johanne

  • Oh thank you very much ayis! You're very fast... Do you know something about the age?
  • Well thughras were used during ottoman egypt wich  means they are at least late 19th century, but i guess that the tughras was still used until the introduction of the  triple hallmark starting from the 1930'S,

    So very early bracelets indeed
