A complete filigree Durzi head cap from Syria. With rare silver coins from the United Arab Republic (A unity between Syria & Egypt which only lasted 3 years 1958-1961) dated 1958.

    Absolutely stunning!  I would have thought this was much older because of the extremely fine work, it's great to see this level of filigree executed relatively recently.  You have a wonderful collection from the Levant, Sami.

    This is beautifully done, Sami, such expert filigree.. and the fact that the coins come from such a brief interlude in history makes it doubly interesting.

    Sami, I am learning so much from viewing your wonderful collection! I have an item from my mom's collection that wasn't identified correctly. I am  wondering if you would take a look and see if you think it is possibly an incomplete Durzi head cap? My mom traveled to Syria so maybe she picked it up there. Thanks so much. Jocelyne

    Dear Jocelyne, thank you for you kind comments. I believe that this item is indeed a Durzi head cap and most probably from Syria. This usually is not very high grade silver and comes on top of a hat with dangling coins. I hope this helps. Br, Sami
