A great image, the aged hand and the brilliant jewelry!
i was in tamanrasset watching a friend wo makes jewelry under a tree, this woman came to repare some thing. i asked her if i can have her hand to take ohtos. she offered me a verry nice smile and said: another man has allready her hand but she can give me to take photos
Very nice, the bracelet, the hand and the story!.........
Thanks for the explanation. Are these bracelets typical for a certain area in Algeria. Are they newly made? Did the man under the tree make them? They seem to be very brilliant silver.
they are typical for sahara region, specialy up Elmenia ( 1000 km from the coast )
they are not made from the man under tree, made from an old man who is good in simple ancient jewelry for daily wear.
@ait ouakli That is a sweet and amusing story. The woman has a sense of humor ;)
yes, she has. i spended a lot of time talking to her. the man under tree was asking her about her daughter all the time. he was aal the time telling her to have a rest at home and next time she sends her daughter to pickup her things. the woman getting angry and telling him : so you do not arrange my things because you want me to send my daughter to you ?? are you crazy, my daughter will never pass from you place. she left half angry half proud of her hand and bracelets. i had a discussion with the man under the tree and serious work, in time giving costumers their things........ was a bit angry with him. 2 days later i saw the girl. i could understand him. the woman too
Good story! I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for posting it.
thank you anna. the story is real. it happends 2 years ago.last time i was there, i wanted to look after the woman , ask her to borrow me the bracelets for photografie but i was scared to dont give them back and tell her that she hasn t to go and come all the time and ask her to send her daughter to pick them up ;-)
Aha! You wanted to play the same game. I see you have a good sense of humor, too.
