congratulation Marie ange. wunderfull piece you bought. really beautiful and special
Thanks I am very happy about it!!
A beauty! A lucky find I think!
The decorative outside reminds me of thistles.
@Hillary what is thistles?? decoration is lovely on this bangle fell in love imediately.
Thistles are relatives of the artichoke. I believe that the thistle is one of the symbols of Scotland, it is a flower with thorny/ spiky leaves and top that opens up to a pinky- purple flower. I doubt that these are supposed to represent thistles, but they do remind me of them.
Thanks Hillary, think the Dutch word is distels but you are right these look like flowers.
Hi Maria Ange it is from Ratjastan I bought one myself year ago in Bikaner Ratjastan!!!
It is delicate and nice to see it is complete!!! I have one in my album but is a little damaged!!
And i must say I went twice to Ratjastan but only ever saw only the one I bought!!
a beautiful piece! And very interesting to read the comments! The flowers (Distel in my language), and where it comes from. Very lovely.
I have heard these flatter Rajasthani bracelets referred to as guard bracelets -- in that two of them go on either side of another, wider bracelet/ Don't know if this is true, just throwing out some hearsay.
