beautiful beads, all three. Looking old to me. Are the designs another material than the bead itself, like p.e. albast or marmer into clay and than baked? Really special for me.
I really know very little about this bead.It is only one,,large 2.5 inches long and approx.1 inch at the middle. It is quite possibly glass that has been etched,as the designs are etched in.I only wished that someone had seen another like, and could comment on the origin or date .I think it was buried for a while,as i see lots of sand and dried dirt inside, but that is a trick also that is used on reproductions here in Afghanistan.I thought only, that it possibly could be early Persian?Only a thought though.
Thanks. Sx
Hi Sarah,,will do ,,I will send a little later.Thanks
Hi,and thanks for all comments. If Roman, can you estimate date?
Although many beads from there were folded glass or rolled pad style...yours appears to be a wound core with lampwork....
Thanks again for all.
