  • hi,,

thanks for the comment miss sarah. After I saw yur comment I looked at the Japanese beads.Maybe so,and maybe not.Every bead that i have is different in size, shape and weight. They didn't come off the bead press for sure.I have seen the large beads on ebay,,with description of early venetian or roman.

  • These are not Venetian beads, and i am also sure that they are not Roman. Maybe your beads were from a graduated strand?
  • Please post an image of all of the beads and dimensions. This will help to offer a good Identification for you
    Warm wishes. sarah
  • Not graduated. The large beads have no connection with the beads with that have added color. The large beads are twisted at the throat,,and have very large holes, which is why I thought maybe they were NOT Japanese.

  • I will take some other photos for sure and post.I really would like to have closure.

  • not japanese but chinese mid 20th century. i have exactly the same beads. they have a millefiore element with a characteristic pattern including clear transparent glass as well as yellow, with a squiggly trail.

its always useful to give dimensions!

  • images and link for these chinese beads

sometimes they are made in oval shapes as well- and used for jewellery.

  • I read the info in the really useful link which you posted, thank you explains lots.
