  • I have never seen blue stones like this on a hamsa. Very nice.
  • I believe that is is a replacement for something that went missing.  It appears to be a vintage pressed glass flower bead, probably Czech.  We've had many large (one was 8 inches long!) 5 foulet hamsas and most have dark blue and dark green glass.  One had a central coral bead, but I suspect that it was replacing a piece of blue glass.  Blue is also a color that wards off the evil eye, but it seems that as a color it is more favored in the Middle East and Turkey.
