This style necklace can be described as either Chinese or Mongolian. I don't know. I have had bracelets made with this method also that are very delicate and either have balls like the Mongolian ones and or a body made of beads with dragon heads. (two of which I left on the sink of my college! that taught me to take anything off when washing my hands) Jade beads and coral beaded over a ball with cloth wrapping. late 19th or early 20th c China or Mongolia
