  • What a beautiful article you wrote about your textile collection. It reminded me that I began my collections with textiles, first carpets and donkey bags in Turkey and then moving to handwoven silks in Afghanistan and the wild and wonderful Sindh cloth garments and household textiles that I collected in Pakistan.  Then after we came home, my husband continued to travel in Turkmenistan and brought back a closet full of embroidered ikat, some done by hand, but a lot by a modern sewing machine.  Your story warmed my heart.  Thank you for publishing it.
