Gorgeous! Ingrid, this is fantastic! A question: I think that I have seen dangles on such hairpins on the bottom (where the sticks come out). I am really really surprised to see them on the top. Is this their usual place? (Just trying to enlargen my knowledge...........) Also I notice, the bigger one has six sticks!Never seen this before (the smaller one I have seen first in books, then I bought one.. but the big one with six sticks - absolutely new to me!!!!).
Splendid
This is the way I know it , but anything is possible, because it is u to the jeweller and his customer how they like to decorate their piece. Remember they are all individually made. just like crosses, guidelines with their own additions.
Thank you Chantal, they do look majestic, don't they. Ethiopian women also walk very straight-up.
ok, thank you Ingrid! it is great to see These, love them a lot!
Drool! How large are they, Ingrid?
Betty, the smaller one measures 11 cm total, but the pendant itself 4.5 cm x 3 cm.
the larger one: total 11 cm pendant: 6.3 cm x 4 cm. Both good silver, smaller hairpin guilded.
Gr. Ingrid
Thanks for the info and for sharing more pictures of the wonders from your Ethiopian treasure chest!
