  • Gorgeous!

  • I had these parts from a trip I made about 6 years ago to China, and the pendant was something I had given my mom years ago. I just made this last month. The pendant is really good silver.

  • Love it!

  • They look wonderful together, you have great eye for designing!

  • thanks , yes it worked out well  but didn't happen until my mom passed away and then I got back her necklace I gave her, took it apart and used the pendant on these carnelians I have had forever. I had not done any stringing in a long time. I did it for years and sold at Saks in California and NY. I miss the creative side and love to design more than just selling old stuff,  but it's almost a different client to the collector types I have culitivated. Most collectors don't want to buy designed items. The interesting thing is that I mostly sold designed items on this last trip and at the show. people could care less about the original things. It comes and goes in waves but the less expensive something is it sells and that is the bottom line. It is tough to keep up quality though as good things are very expensive now.

Then there are those who appreciate the good quality components and design themselves that are alwasy looking at made up stuff or parts.  I always used  and like them anyway. Now a days the good quality components are as expensive as pieces..!  I am shocked myself and priced things on this trip as I thought i would start stringing again but I can not afford to replace the parts now and  am only using up what i have in stock.  I used to buy alot of parts on my trips to Indian and China with the pocket money I had and then also the expensive unique things for collectors. Now I hear all those parts are either gone and or really expensive. I used to buy them like candy as they were cheap once.

After  these few pieces sell that will be it. I won't use new stuff that is made like old  which is what most suppliers are selling now.  I started creating a new line of comtemporary jewelry that has nothing to do with the tribal jewelry. I would do that first.  If people had to shop here in US at least and see the prices of good quality parts now , it's frightening. Most of the suppliers that had old are all selling repro parts now. terrible for me but I guess ok if one likes them.
