A digital archive showcasing the extensive collection of jewellery and adornment images shared on the former Ethnic Jewels Ning site over the years. These images have significantly enriched discussions on cultural adornment and its global dispersion.

Cement/Plaster beads

They are made from a compound variously described as "cement" and "plaster." Peter Francis talks about them in Beads of the World. I discuss them in my paper for the Istanbul Conference (2007). The Bead Museum has some from the Liese Collection. They can be richly-colored or paler. they do not really copy old beads, but are passed-off as old beads. Made since the mid-to-late 80s."
