Carnelian in Silver

This is a bit of a mystery to me. Indian rupees dated 1936. Carnelian stones. Good silver. Flat unadorned disks, small hollow dangles, stamped dangles, small bird-like ornaments. The elements in this necklace seem to span such a large geographic area, I really have no idea where this is from. Anyone have any ideas?

  • This looks Turkoman with the rupees being a possible addition?

  • The body of the piece is most definitely Turkoman.

  • Yes, the carnelian pieces look Turkoman and the bottom dangles, but the small dangles above the top carnelian pieces seem to be Indian and of course the rupees.  The bird elements almost suggest to me a soviet origin for those.    Perhaps they started with some Turkoman pieces and just added what was at hand.
