  • I quite like this, Frankie!

  • Joost, I feel as though I`ve been patted on the head by a rather severe but respected teacher!

Seriously, I`m glad you quite like it.

  • well, more than a year later can I be the second person on ethnic jewels to say the same; I quite like it too Frankie!

  • Hey, another pat! Seriously, Howah, I`m glad you like it and it`s good to hear from you again. The silver and enamel Bulgarian bracelets are hard to find, though. It`s the brass ones that are quite common. Cheers.

  • Hi Frankie, hope you are well and enjoying the holiday. Nice pin, is it gilded or  is that just the light?

  • Hi Patti! Good to be in touch at this festive time. No, this is not gilded - it`s just the effect of the light. The two top pieces are slightly yellow but I think they`re made from a brassy alloy. Have a great time!

  • There are some really fancy pieces of Bulgarian jewelry up for sale on ebay right now. You must miss Bulgaria, because you are showing off this jewel -- must be in England now? Better place to spend Christmas I think ( I mean British Christmases are iconic) Have a great holiday with your family!

  • Hi Patti!. I`m not really buying any ethnic jewellery at present - all available funds must go towards extensive house repairs. Actually, it was Howah that brought the photo up again, not me. Bulgaria is knee-deep in snow right now. Much healthier than the cold rain with fog that`s been hanging around in the North of England.

Actually I do have a pair of Kabyle fibulae that I should show soon. So I`ve not been totally abstemious! You enjoy your holiday with your family too. Will you be baking any of your super pies?

  • Please show the fibs, will enjoy seeing them. Are you repairing in England or Bulgaria or both? No pies for Christmas ( although I have been baking pies, one a week, all fall and winter) I will make ginger cake -- seems very festive and very yummy. Take care, maybe we could travel together someday - I would love to go to Tunisia after all the positive comments Ayis has made about it.

  • Patti, at the moment I`m repairing in the UK. Damage done by all the rain there`s been this year.Hey, as to travel, who knows? I would never say never.

    Kabyle Fibulae coming up!
