Bulgaria - identification please

I bought this piece together with the head band and the beads belt. It is made of goat leather (some goat hairs are still attached) and a string holding them together. In the middle there is this strange, almost jet bead looking unit. I could imagine that it would have been worn over the shoulder or head cover. Does anybody know more?
