Very useful to see this - in a stark form. No escaping the sense of a veil right in front of the face, here! The example in Kalter's *The Arts and Crafts of Turkestan* (p. 122) is very similar in structure, but has quite profuse decoration at the top, with pendants along the sides as well. That therefore looks a bit more joyous than this. It is also Khiva, and has a markedly "Uzbeki" flavour to it in the decorated areas. I must admit, though, that I especially like the decorated flap in the case of your recently illustrated example (whether Kazak, as I think is indeed likely, or not).
