Sold by Christies NY on 23 Sept 2004, for $38,240 ... Christies' text: "A Set of Parcel Gilt Silver Horse Ornaments; Bokara, 19th/20th Century. Very finely worked consisting of a large plaque with suspending festoons inlaid with turquoise and hardstones centered by banded gray agates and arranged in circular patterns surrounded by silver filigree; and including similarly decorated pendent ornaments. 40½ and 22½ in. (102.8 and 57 cm.) high (2)."[Note that the two parts together would amount to 160 cm, which is taller than most Central Asian women would have been at the time - this MAY be a reason why Christies spoke of "horse ornaments" - JD.]
