  • WOW! Peter, this is an absolutely stunning piece. Superb work - must have looked gorgeous when worn.

    Looking quite old, too.... Congratulations. Betty

  • Oh my!  This is spectacular!!  It looks like when worn the bottom coins must hang well past the waist.

  • Superb. It reminds me of some Bulgarian necklaces.  I love all silver pieces.....

  • Dear All;

    Below is a smaller sister of the above necklace. I bought this necklace a couple of years ago from the same dealer in Jerusalem. With kind regards. Peter

  • Superb! Beautiful design.
  • WOW!  I love the second one almost as much as the first!!

  • Dear Peter. thank you for this post

    this is a historical piece, even when i searched in the net , i didnt found a semilar one,

    looks complet and old. congratulations

  • Dear Rabah; Many thanks for your message. This necklace has its origin with the Ottoman and the choker is a Byzantine design, later on taken over by the Ottomans. This is a traditional Palestinian necklace and extremely difficult to find. Such pieces usually cannot be bought in shops but are sold through connections, if at all. I know the seller in Jerusalem since many years, hence, since my first visit there. I buy pieces from him every time I visit. He has gorgeous items but does not keep them in the shop. He brings them from home. This particular piece I was able to purchase due to the current rather difficult situation (few tourists due to the situation in the Near East). Otherwise he would have never parted from it. Even though I have not seen them, I know that he has some more such rare pieces from a shop, whose owner has passed over 10 years ago and he has taken over a part of the inventory. However, the others have to wait for next time! Regards. Peter
  • Both are incredibly beautiful, Peter. Thank you for showing these treasures to us! Betty

  • What a rare find! Even when you can get your hands on one, they are so prohibitively expensive. Really fantastic piece. Congratulations. These are so heavy and substantial too!
