Dear Joost; This is a beautiful example, so intricate - GORGEOUS! Congratulations. Peter
Many thanks, Peter. I think we often share much the same taste!
When Truus wrote her book, we were uncertain whether this was Armenian or Turkish. But when I posted it (the complete belt, that time) on the "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment" Facebook page the other day, a very learned Armenian lady compellingly and very precisely explained to me why is was Armenian (though she quite understood why we had found the choice difficult). A great thing about internet contact today is that you can so often learn from it in a way which even 15 years or so ago was much harder.
