Beautiful pair from Taiz …..i saw a similar pair listed on ebay a month ago ..i wonder if it is the same pair…congrats !!!!
Angelo
That's a great pair, Peter. And yes, they can also be found in the Horn of Africa. In fact I have noticed a great similarity with a type of bracelets worn in Pakistan. Kind regards, Betty
Gorgeous bracelets which are very hard to find in good silver. Congratulations!!
Very nice bracelet! I have a similar one, old and long used, but unfortunately not good silver, bought in Ethiopia. I used to wear it until the closure was broken, I repaired it, but am afraid of losing it (it is not safe when closed), so I do not wear it anymore. Maybe someday, I can have it fixed. I also got a bit annoyed because everybody here insisted it is not Ethiopian, but from Yemen, although my seller had bought it in Ethiopia and confirmed me it was worn in Ethiopia.it was quite a controversy (some years ago). I am glad to hear from you, that it is also worn in Ethiopia. Because I was very disappointed everyone here saying it was not from Ethiopia
Dear Peter, thanks for your info (World of bracelet book), I appreciate that. My bracelet cannot compete with yours, as the material is of low quality, but I really like it just the same, especially as it seems to be worn for quite a long time (carrying some unknown histories). Perhaps I should look for this book (world of bracelets) at some time. With kind regards, Eva
Hi Peter, thanks for all the information about the books. I copied the names and will look for some, especially the bracelet one, sometime, when I am not running around in nature or nature parks with my photo equipment (i.e. when the weather is bad...).
