I would say "yes". As far as I know this style was very popular in Bulgaria, but perhaps also in the wider region, the Balkans, Greece?
They use this in Macedonia.. from ancient times very little has changed and some can be considered quite old..
funny i wrote something else and this came out? odd. they also used these in Bulgaria but my comment didn't come out as I had written it..
Thank you Betty and Linda. It is so much easier to search for more information when you have the country of origin. I did not buy this one but can now learn some more. A quick look on ebay showed me there seems to be a lot of these bracelets available. I would guess this one be late 19th century or early 20th century but it's hard to tell considering Linda's remark that little has changed.
Yes, I have seen these on ebay too. I thought they were quite ugly.
Well Cordelia, taste may differ. I quite like it, big and bold.
:) Ah, of course! I was very intrigued by them and found them on the antiquities sections of ebay
I like those, since they have been made over so long a time! The design is stricking!
