Bondo Iron Torque-close up

20th century iron torque with brass rings worn by the Bondo women of the Orissa state in Eastern India. The Bondo believed the torque prevented lightning strikes at weddings and protected against malicious mischief. As seen on page 244 of "A World of Necklaces" 300 grams 6 3/4 inch diameter. NFS
