I think it is likely an old repair in silver
S x
These beads were not a type which were signed and I have never seen one with a hallmark...
it is a nice example from the southern Sirouan region of Morocco
The wear on the bead is very beautiful. Someone loved this bead. I always like seeing repairs on old pieces, it means someone loved the object enough to have it repaired instead of sold or melted.
Looks like it has some remains of enamel. I love these old worn beads, a little like the one from Ait Ouaozgite the last time I was in Morocco, one of my favorite things. And yes, the other piece, attached to it looks Sirouan.
At first i had not even noticed i could see only after cleaning and also the remains of the enamal were more visible Patty. I totally agree with you Lynn that old worn jewellery tell a story and have charm! Thanks all!
