Cute brooch Carry! Is it engraved by hand? Are there hallmarks on the reverse? It's easier to find a maker if you know something more. I know there are a lot of brooches made in the Victorian period.
Norwegian ethnic jewelry for traditional folk costumes is very much in existence. The costume is called Bunad, and the silver jewelry is called Søljer, and is still in use today. I'll post pictures. The oldest one in my possession is from around 1880, but you can find søljer and brooches from early viking age throughout Norway, and most of Scandinavia.
