  • Going for over 5000 dollars on ebay.
  • Hey Patti,

    Do you have a link?

    Thanks

    SX

  • thanks Patti, they seem to have 2!!

  • Nice workmanship.

Fibulas are very interesting since they bear some niello on the pin's base.

Crown is more recent with beautiful pendants.

Maybe a very late jewish work indeed but not antique, perhaps as old as mid 2àth century.

Fibulas go for around 6dh per gram (last trip in morocco), crown as it bears more enamel would cost around 8 dh per gram.

We need to know the total weight wich should not exceed 3000 grams.

  • hi Ayis,

    When was your last trip??

    S x

  • oh well sarah, that was last decembre, and i for sure know that silver skyrocketted since that time, so my prices have to be updated!!

What is the regular ongoing price for simple old thingies nowadays?

  • ha ha ha insider info!!!

For just silver 15dhms is around average

for many items dealers are starting to ask price for piece I have seen this work out to as high as 50 dhms per gram!!

something enameeled and complete is starting to get over 20 dhms in some places

the prices get higher every week!!

Metals are strong in the market right now.

Add rarity, and it is definately a sellers market in Morocco right now.....

  • I am a little wary of the age given for the headdress, I saw something very similar in Marrakech last week in very very good ( almost too good) condition. I am becoming very aware of a new wave of excellent fakes, and wondered whst the opinion of this would be... I saw this posted onto another forum with a question of the value...

This led via patti to e bay where it is listed twice!?

Maybe I am being too wary, but thought I would ask for a wider opinion before I voiced my doubts.

Thanks as ever for your input

  • fibulas are definetely old, the headress i would stay away from if looking for genuine old stuff.

Fibulas chains are not as old as fibulas

Again the niello touch on the fibulas that i have already seen on some old stuff is very interesting.
