Anklets - Oman

These anklets are HUGE! This photo has been taken before polishing them - they would win any competition for their luster shine after polishing! I bought these anklets several years ago in Oman itself. It is nowadays very difficult to obtain such big anklets of such an age in such a great condition!

  • Incredibly beautiful pieces! Just how big are they? I always wonder how the ladies could move wearing such jewellery - even if we assume that such pieces were only worn on special occasions.

  • Dear Lynn and Betty; Many thanks for your comments. I will measure them in February when I am at my home in France and inform you accordingly. However, they are very big! I understand that the large thick side was worn away from the other leg, which when being used to it and with some exercise (!) should have been fine. I have seen some photos of ladies wearing them - they looked gorgeous! With kind regards. Peter
