Close up of the amulet
A very nice example! Congratulations! Peter
An exceptional piece, Lynn. Very well preserved. The decoration on the pendant is very interesting. Do you think it was made to protect someone .. maybe by a shaman?
Dear Lynn, in my last comment about this I wondered who was responsible for these magic squares and have now been able to read the comments on Facebook. Thanks to Alaa for his valuable information about the Shia. But it raises so many other questions.... For example, was the content of these squares taken 'off the shelf' or were they specially tailored to the individual. And having been been formulated were these magic texts activated? Maybe by a prayer or ceremony of some kind? Do we know?
