Beautiful! What means TIV? Some of the beads in the middle are Agate (Karneol). Love the silver parts, they are unusual.
Eva, the necklace is mainly old agate and some amber (courtesy of Marie-Ange), with brass from Ghana and TIV is the tribe (Nigeria) who wore these brass beads in their hair. Correct me if I am wrong anyone. It is very difficult to find TIV beads as nice as these long fluted ones, more common ones are straight. I keep searching for more as love them, anyone have any for sale?
Glad you like it!
@Thanks for the explication. I never heard of a Nigerian tribe named TIV, but of course, one cannot know everything. Now we know! Anyway, it is a lovely necklace, this is sure!
I just googled it, indeed, there is a large tribe in Nigeria - Cameroon, named Tiv, with undergroups. Never heard that name before. Nice to know.
