On this very sweet lady, no real tatoos.
But in some parts on north africa (moroccan middle atlas, tunisia, Algerian aures mountains) women used to have huge patches of their skin tatooed
Chin, breast, back, legs, arms, beard, throat...
This lady have surely been showcasing traditionnal dress of her region in some local festival or fair!!

whilst speaking of tattoos, I wonder if you have any information regarding traditions of alfalfa tattooing Ayis. I would like to have something traditional done in this manner.

I was told by a lady in Ait Ouzine in the Draa that the alfalfa plant is used for the tattoos...I wondered if you knew anything regarding this.

i can't help you in that matter, women in my family who have tattoos come from the arabic speaking lowlands arabs and have long abandonned this tradition, thus nobody is able to reproduce tatoos there.
It is still living in eastern high atlas and middle atlas's remote valleys, where i have seen pretty young girls tattoed
As for the materials used, they have surely been different from one region to another...but i have never heard of alfalfa being used .
