Algerian headband or tiara

an algerian tiara known as (Kheit errūh : soul thread) in Algiers or (Zerrouf : chain, string) in Tlemcen. It firstly appeared in Algiers. It belongs to a variety of headbands made essentially of gold and often jeweled with precious stones that hold a superstitious power for local ladies: the upper head being considered the place where the soul lies, it needs a wonderful tightening ornament to keep it in place and prevent it from falling off.
