  • the one on top is a Peul ring, quite well known,  but also worn by the Tuareg and other ethnies, often in the hair or as a pendant. Have also seen it worn as fingerring, by a Peul woman. There exist various types and sizes, if it is big, it is uncomfortable to wear on the finger, (at least for us Europeans).

The one below I don't know.

  • The one below is Moroccan.

  • Every time I see a jewel i love,it belongs to you

  • I thought it was but I am not so expert in the differences between some of the cultures in Africa.  There are alot of cross over wearing items from border to border and it gets confusing unless you spend alot of time buying and studying or living there.  I started in Morocco when I was 13 but have only been back three times lately in the past seven years. I had not gone for many many years and purchased from some people that do go more often or from private clients. I found it really expensive and hard to find the original items and or quality I needed. But this ring (bottom ) I did get this last time I went when I did a big shopping , that's when I got the ring with the side tassels and enamel also. What I would love to find are the kind that were around for a while,  I think from tiznit and hair rings that have a ball at the end and are enameled. I had them when I was younger and wore them as finger rings. I have sold all that i had and long since have not seen nice ones. Those might still be around?
