What is really nice that nit has the original strings what holds the two pieces together!!
It may be called a bazuband, much like the Iranian bazubands. I am wondering, maybe somebody can answer this question. Most of the bazubands I have collected and seen are either from Iran or Afghanistan both of which countries have considerable Shia populations -- are they specificall Shia jewelry or do the Sunni use them as well. Would love to know the answer to this.
countries where Sunni Moslem they also do not wear jewelry!! But of course their is always an influence of tradition!!!
I just consulted with a Muslim man who also knows about jewelry and he indicates that this is primarily a Shiite custom, not Sunni. Thanks for the input!
